But what at first looks like one murder turns out to be two. A homeless man has been kidnapped, and the only thing that can stop the murderer from killing him is a large sum of money from four landlords. Knowing the killer has carefully planned his crimes, Saga and Martin wonder whether they can catch him off guard by doing something he doesn't expect.

Copenhagen is up in arms following a court case in which several police officers are found innocent after beating an immigrant to death.

When a bus full of children goes missing, the killer demands that five companies that benefit from child labor should be set on fire. The killer is finished, having succeeded in opening people's eyes to society's problems. Saga, however, believes that this isn't the end of his plan.

After gradually putting the pieces of the killer's complicated puzzle together, the police have a suspect. Now they're waiting for his next move. The final step in the killer's plan takes on a new direction. Saga does all she can to crack the case, but is it too late? As Saga and Martin are placed in quarantine, four people in animal masks come forward to take responsibility for the outbreak on board the coaster. While attempting to profile the eco-terrorists, Saga and Martin get an anonymous tip that may lead them to the group.

When four eco-terrorists are found murdered in a shipping container, Saga and Martin realize that the group's leader must still be alive. A new group of four eco-terrorists release a video online, and Saga tries to draw information from Laura, a witness with amnesia who's just awakened.

While Martin sits by his son's bedside at the hospital, Saga learns that four skeletons found in a sunken boat may be related to the case. A chemical plant explosion threatens to contaminate the water supply, as Martin delves into Saga's past and Saga herself faces relationship issues. Martin continues to press Jens for details, and re-interviewing original witnesses leads Saga to suspect that someone's lying to her and Martin.

Saga and Martin, whose friendship has taken a hit by his investigation into her past, finally identify a suspect and race to track him down. Martin and Saga realize that one perpetrator still remains. With time running out, she makes a decision that may destroy their friendship.

Friction arises between Saga and her new partner, Hanne, as they investigate the brutal murder of the founder of a gender-neutral preschool. The investigation finds its prime suspect in the victim's distraught son, but Saga is distracted by her mother's unexpected and unwelcome visit.
