I love it but I would fear in the wash it would come apart. Kim, I would suggest just spot cleaning this kind of tutu. Not sure it would hold up in the washing machine, even secured with thread. My mother-in-law bought a couple of tutus made this way for my daughter.
You can by one of the net laundry bags, they are cheap, probably pick one up at a dollar store. Place the tutus in the bag and place it in the washing machine, this way they are not rubbing against each other and getting tangled. After washing, remove from band and hang them up them up to air dry.
